Football Recap: Brookwood Warriors vs. Lafayette Hornets
Friday just wasn't the day for Brookwood's offense. They were beaten by the Lafayette Hornets 43-0 on Friday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lafayette was led to victory by Dayne Mccray and Tywan K Williamson. Mccray rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while K Williamson threw for 81 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6passing. The dominant performance gave Mccray a new career-high in rushing yards.
Brookwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lafayette, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Brookwood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frederica Academy at 7:30 p.m. on September 20th. As for Lafayette, they will face off against Chiefland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chiefland will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lafayette surely won't give up without a fight.
