Soccer Game Preview: Vashon Island vs. Cascade Christian

Vashon Island has won four straight games at home, while Cascade Christian has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Pirates will welcome the Cougars at 5:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Vashon Island's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Charles Wright with a sharp 5-0 win. Vashon Island's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Meanwhile, Cascade Christian got the win against Klahowya on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Cascade Christian's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Klahowya are ranked 123rd).

Vashon Island is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-0-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 55 goals over those nine games. As for Cascade Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
