Football Recap: Woodward Boomers vs. Weatherford Eagles
Woodward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Weatherford Eagles, falling 21-0. The shutout was out of character for the Boomers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.
Weatherford can attribute much of their success to Cy Scammahorn, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown. Those 65 rushing yards gave Scammahorn a new career-high.
Woodward's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Weatherford, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Woodward wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 30-12 defeat against Elk City on the 8th. Weatherford has also already played their next match, a 41-14 win against Bridge Creek on the 8th.
