Soccer Game Preview: Graham vs. Galax

The Graham G-Men will head out to challenge the Galax Maroon Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Graham comes in on seven and Galax on three.

On Thursday, Graham made easy work of Tazewell and carried off a 5-2 win. With Graham ahead 4-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Blake Graham and Lucas Nash scored all five of Graham's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

Meanwhile, Galax kept a clean sheet against Giles on Monday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 8-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Galax's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Giles are ranked 188th).

Graham's record now sits at 8-1-2. As for Galax, their record is now 8-2-1.

Graham couldn't quite get it done against Galax when the teams last played back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the G-Men avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
