Baseball Recap: Pisgah Comes Up Short

Pisgah and Presbyterian Christian squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Pisgah had to settle for second. They lost 8-0 to the Bobcats. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Dragons were not able to get on the board.

Pisgah got a good showing from Walker Whitehead, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Whitehead has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Pisgah dropped their record down to 24-12-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Presbyterian Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 26-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bobcats beat Pisgah by a score of 8-0 later that day.
