Soccer Recap: Palmer Ridge Gets the Win

Palmer Ridge proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Pueblo County Hornets 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Palmer Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Lilli Hawkins was the driving force of Palmer Ridge's attack as she scored both of Palmer Ridge's goals, bringing her season total up to nine goals.

Palmer Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five matches. As for Pueblo County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmer Ridge will take on Lewis-Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pueblo County, they will face off against Pueblo Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo Centennial's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Pueblo County's offense will have their work cut out for them.
