It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Zapata had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Rockport-Fulton Pirates. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Pirates on Friday, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

Zapata is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-17-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Rockport-Fulton, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 27-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Zapata beat the Pirates by a score of 9-5 later that day.
