Basketball Recap: Vermilion Gets the Win

Oak Harbor came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Vermilion, but Mason Cooper wouldn't allow it. The Vermilion Sailors snuck past the Oak Harbor Rockets with a 50-45 victory on Saturday thanks to Cooper, who went 5-for-9 en route to 18 points and eight boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Collin Angney was another key player, putting up seven points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Vermilion's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Oak Harbor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Vermilion will take on Port Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Harbor, they will take on Margaretta in a tournament on Friday.
