Baseball Recap: East Hill Christian Comes Up Short

East Hill Christian extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Charlie Hall was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Zach McDaniel was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As for Gulf Pointe Latin, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Gulf Pointe Latin's side, Gabriel Biagini was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Biagini a new career-high. Another player making a difference was John DeFore, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

East Hill Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will venture away from home to face off against West Florida Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
