Baseball Game Preview: Henryville Hornets vs. Clarksville Generals

The Henryville Hornets will take on the Clarksville Generals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Henryville and seven for Clarksville dating back to last season.

Scottsburg hit Henryville with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-1.

Henryville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Owens, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Owens has snagged this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Clarksville and North Harrison meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Generals lost 12-1 to the Cougars.

Henryville's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Clarksville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Henryville's way against Clarksville in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Henryville made off with a 19-9 win. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
