Recap: Hermann Bearcats vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds
The Hermann Bearcats were the 67-58 winner over the North Callaway Thunderbirds when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hermann took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Callaway on Thursday. Hermann has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Callaway got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Blevins out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks. Blevins set a new season high mark in steals with six. Abrielle Burgher was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Hermann has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for North Callaway, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Hermann will head out on the road to face off against St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Clair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Hermann is ranked 102nd). North Callaway's road trip will continue as they head out to face Montgomery County on January 13th.
