Baseball Game Preview: Morton Potters vs. East Peoria Raiders

For the second straight game, Morton will face off against East Peoria. The Potters will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Morton 2.3, East Peoria 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Monday just wasn't the day for Morton's offense. They fell just short of East Peoria by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The Potters' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For East Peoria's part, the result came thanks to R.J. Duncheon's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks. Duncheon has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Peoria saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roman Moody, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

East Peoria is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Morton, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.
