Softball Recap: Shelby Valley Comes Up Short

If Shelby Valley was feeling good fresh off their 13-4 takedown of East Ridge on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tug Valley Panthers by a score of 11-9 on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Shelby Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Tug Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-9.

Looking ahead, Shelby Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Hazard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. Tug Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
