Point Pleasant is 1-9 against Winfield since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Big Blacks will venture away from home to take on the Generals at 6:00 p.m. Point Pleasant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Point Pleasant made easy work of Eastern and carried off a 10-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Big Blacks.

The team relied heavily on Chloe Patrick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Queen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Point Pleasant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Boyd County hit Winfield with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Generals lost 12-2 to the Lions.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Point Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Point Pleasant couldn't quite finish off Winfield in their previous meeting back in March and fell 7-5. Can the Big Blacks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
