Baseball Recap: Joliet Central Comes Up Short

Joliet Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They fell 4-0 to the Plainfield Central Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Monday.

Joliet Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Nixon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Plainfield Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

While Joliet Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
