Flag Football Recap: Jacobs Comes Up Short

Jacobs fell victim to Huntley and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Red Raiders, falling 25-0. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 37th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huntley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lyla Ginczycki, who threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns. Ginczycki is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Aubrina Adamik did her part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 101 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Jacobs and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for Huntley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Jacobs will challenge Crystal Lake Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 9.8 points per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Huntley, they will take on Prairie Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
