Basketball Recap: Avalon Comes Up Short

Avalon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mesrobian Bulldogs. Even if the Lancers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Avalon's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mesrobian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Avalon will be taking part in a tournament against Weed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mesrobian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on January 15, 2025.
