Baseball Game Preview: Southwest Guilford Cowboys vs. East Forsyth Eagles

Southwest Guilford is on a six-game streak of home wins, while East Forsyth is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Cowboys will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Southwest Guilford has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Southwest Guilford's victory against Grimsley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cowboys' pitcher stepped up to hand the Whirlies a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Cowboys have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The result came thanks to Graham Sutherland's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, East Forsyth made easy work of Mount Tabor on Tuesday and carried off a 14-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

East Forsyth's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Southwest Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
