Oviedo is 10-0 against Lyman since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Oviedo Lions will host the Lyman Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. Lyman took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Oviedo, who comes in off a win.

Oviedo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Freedom 56-30 on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Lyman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by East Ridge 63-29. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Knights are ranked 217th).

Despite the defeat, Lyman saw an underclassman step up: freshman Samara Oldham posted 12 points. That was a full 41.4% of Lyman's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gizelle Carvajal, who put up seven points.

Lyman's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Oviedo, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.

Oviedo came out on top in a nail-biter against Lyman in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 40-37. Will Oviedo repeat their success, or does Lyman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
