Baseball Recap: Erskine Academy Takes a Loss

Erskine Academy extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gardiner Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Erskine Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sorrel Vinci, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Gardiner, their win bumped their record up to 1-0. They haven't had any issues with Erskine Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

On Gardiner's side, Kian Alves was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Madore, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Erskine Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Morse at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Gardiner will square off against rival Leavitt at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
