Volleyball Game Preview: Chopticon Braves vs. Calvert Cavaliers

The Chopticon Braves will square off against the Calvert Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Chopticon came up short against Lackey on Monday, falling 3-0. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Chopticon took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Calvert faced Broadneck in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cavaliers lost 3-0 to the Bruins. The loss put an end to the Cavaliers' undefeated start to the season.

Calvert was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Broadneck work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 27-25, 25-9.

Chopticon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Calvert, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Chopticon came up short against Calvert in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
