Football Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Dekaney Wildcats + How To Watch

MacArthur hasn't had much luck against Dekaney recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Generals will challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. MacArthur has given up an average of 29.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

MacArthur is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Westfield on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Generals took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 850th, while the Mustangs are ranked 187th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Dekaney faced off against Spring on Friday. The Wildcats enjoyed a cozy 24-8 victory over the Lions. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Dekaney, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-6.

MacArthur took a serious blow against Dekaney in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 50-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wildcats' CJ Chizer, who rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Now that the Generals know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
