Softball Recap: Childress Wins Going Away Against Tulia

After only two runs in their last match, Childress made sure to put some runs up on the board against Tulia on Friday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Ansley Parr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Kaylee Felton was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kaleigh Ross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Childress now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Tulia, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Childress has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Canadian on the 31st. As for Tulia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-8 defeat against Dalhart on the 31st.
