Baseball Recap: Gates County Comes Up Short

Gates County lost against Perquimans last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Red Barons came up short against the Pirates, falling 14-2. The Red Barons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gates County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyric Pittman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Gates County's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Perquimans, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Gates County will venture away from home to take on Northeastern at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Perquimans, they will square off against Pasquotank County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
