Basketball Recap: Rockwood Comes Up Short

Rockwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 58-24 loss at the hands of the Windber Ramblers. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

When it comes to explaining why Rockwood lost, don't look at Zander Ritenour. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points. What's more, Ritenour also posted a 45% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Garrison Hale also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Windber's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grady Klosky led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Evan Brady, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Rockwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Windber, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Rockwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-41 loss against North Star on the 4th. As for Windber, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-53 defeat against Berlin Brothersvalley on the 4th.
