MaxPreps Independent Top 10 Boys Basketball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard

1. (No. 1 preseason)  La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.), 8-0
The Lakers are rolling through the competition early on this season and have won their first eight games by an average margin of 40.2 points per game. Five-star Brian Bowen is averaging 20.1 points per game and will lead La Lumiere into its first true test against High School Top 25 No. 6 New Albany (Ind.) in 10 days.

2. (2) Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), 8-0
Kansas commit Billy Preston exploded for 16 points and 17 rebounds in a 57-41 win over ASPIRE Academy at the Marshall County Hoopfest. The Warriors will need the five-star power forward to come up big when they battle High School Top 25 No. 1 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) in 10 days.

3. (3) Montverde Academy (Fla.), 5-0
Sophomore star R.J. Barrett is averaging 25.2 points per contest. A tough test against Providence (Jacksonville) is on tap this week.



4. (6) Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), 9-0
Findlay Prep has notched impressive victories over previously-ranked Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah) and Westlake (Austin, Texas). All five starters are averaging double figures.
Kentucky signee P.J. Washington is averaging 17.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.6 blocked shots per game for unbeaten Findlay Prep.

5. (4) Prolific Prep Academy (Napa, Calif.), 8-0
Duke commit Gary Trent Jr. went off for 36 points in a big 72-62 win over preseason No. 5 Hamilton Heights Christian Academy over the weekend.

6. (NR) IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), 4-0
IMG Academy is off to a hot start, which includes a 99-92 win over preseason High School Top 25-ranked Pebblebrook (Mableton, Ga.). The Ascenders are in good hands with the nation's top-rated senior point guard in Trevon Duval running the show.

7. (5) Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga, Tenn.), 4-2
Mixed bag last week as the Hawks knocked off High School Top 25 No. 2 Memphis East but fell to Prolific Prep at the Marshall County Hoopfest.

8. (8) Huntington St. Joseph Prep (W.Va.), 4-1
After a disappointing loss to Wesley Christian (Allen, Ky.) over the weekend, the Fighting Irish will look to bounce back against preseason No. 10 Mountain Mission (Grundy, Va.) next Tuesday.

9. (NR) Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.), 12-2
Prep's two losses were without the nation's No. 1 senior in DeAndre Ayton. The Hawks will be fully loaded in their revenge match with No. 5 Prolific Prep on Sunday.

10. (NR) Westtown (Pa.), 5-0
The Moose feature a lethal five-star duo with Mohamed Bamba and Cameron Reddish.
