Softball Recap: Immaculata Spartans vs. Watchung Hills Regional Warriors

Immaculata fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Watchung Hills Regional on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 6-4. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Maddie Falvey put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Heather Ryden was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Ava Giglio also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
