Soccer Game Preview: McCallie vs. Memphis University School

The McCallie Blue Tornado will face off against the Memphis University School Owls at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. McCallie is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

McCallie is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Chattanooga Christian, who was ranked fifth at the time (McCallie was ranked second). The Blue Tornado walked away with a 3-1 win over the Chargers on Saturday. Three seems to be a good number for McCallie as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in March, Memphis University School was forced to settle for a draw last Tuesday. Neither they nor Briarcrest Christian could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

McCallie pushed their record up to 13-1-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. With that draw, Memphis University School's record moves to 7-2-3.

McCallie came out on top in a nail-biter against Memphis University School when the teams last played back in May of 2019, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Blue Tornado have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Owls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
