Baseball Recap: Gardner-South Wilmington Comes Up Short

Gardner-South Wilmington was the 7-6 winner over Woodland when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Gardner-South Wilmington fell just short of Woodland by a score of 7-6 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by just one run.

Gardner-South Wilmington saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Case Christensen, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another was Ryan Millette, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Gardner-South Wilmington dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Woodland, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Gardner-South Wilmington will be playing at home against Reed-Custer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodland, they are taking a road trip to face off against LeRoy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
