Mason Classical Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Neumann on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Celtics by a score of 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mason Classical Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Neumann, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mason Classical Academy will face off against Golden Gate at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.4 runs per game on average), something the Paladins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Neumann, they will square off against Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Celtics' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sharks have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
