Basketball Recap: Kylie Mcknight Key Part of Team Effort in Buffaloes Win

Miami-Yoder hadn't done well against Fountain Valley recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Miami-Yoder Buffaloes snuck past the Fountain Valley Danes with a 30-24 victory. This was payback for the Buffaloes, who suffered a 49-11 loss the last time these two teams met.

Miami-Yoder's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kylie McKnight, who posted eight points in addition to six steals and five boards. McKnight has become a key player for Miami-Yoder: the team is 6-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Kragel, who earned ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Miami-Yoder smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in 12 consecutive games.

The win got Miami-Yoder back to even at 8-8. As for Fountain Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Miami-Yoder has already played their next match, a 62-16 loss against Thomas MacLaren School on the 18th. As for Fountain Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Cripple Creek-Victor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fountain Valley is facing Cripple Creek-Victor at the right time seeing as Cripple Creek-Victor is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
