Baseball Recap: Springfield Starts off Right with Win over North Salem

Springfield took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the North Salem Vikings with a sharp 17-2 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Millers as it put an end to their 21-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Springfield got a massive performance out of Timothy James, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony De La Rosa, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Looking ahead, Springfield will take on Silverton in a tournament on Monday. As for North Salem, they will venture away from home to face off against Lebanon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
