Volleyball Recap: Henry Clay Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Lafayette

Henry Clay faced Lafayette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Generals by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Henry Clay was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 25-15.

Henry Clay can attribute much of their success to Cooper Pugh, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Pugh a new career-high.

Henry Clay pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Lafayette, their defeat ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-7.

Henry Clay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Western Hills on the 16th. Lafayette has also already played their next contest (against West Jessamine), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
