Klawock's game on Friday was all tied up 10-10 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They pulled ahead with a 34-33 photo finish over the Hoonah Braves. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chieftains.

Klawock had a senior duo take command as Kaiya Marvin dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards and Lea Armour posted eight points and five steals. Armour has become a key player for Klawock: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 10-12 otherwise.

Klawock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Klawock pushed their record up to 14-13 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points on average over those games. As for Hoonah, they moved to 13-5 with that loss, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.

Klawock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoonah, they have already played their next contest, a 31-19 win against Skagway on the 1st.
