Softball Game Preview: Hawkins Hawks vs. George Washington Prep Generals

The Hawkins Hawks will head out on the road to take on the George Washington Prep Generals at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Hawkins' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Hawkins and Jordan had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hawks came up short against the Bulldogs on Monday, falling 24-14.

George Washington Prep played against University Pathways Public Service Academy on Monday and won via forfeit.

George Washington Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.4 runs over those games. As for Hawkins, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Hawkins suffered a grim 42-30 defeat to George Washington Prep in their previous meeting on April 7th. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
