Valley Oak recap September 24, 2013
Oakdale was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fourth in Valley Oak. Earlier in the week, the Mustangs defeated Paraclete 40-9.
Weston Ranch moved up to 815 from 935 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars were able to move up by defeating Bear Creek 26-18.
Gaige Allen was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 108 yards as Kimball fell to Tracy. Teammate Rashaad Cooper added to the ground attack by rushing for 10 yards.
Jackson was the best receiver in Valley Oak this week as the Jaguars fell to the Bulldogs.
Allen provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Kimball lost to Tracy.
Sierra's Jake Pruitt and Bryson Sanders have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pruitt has thrown for 709 yards this season, while Sanders has 22 catches for 199 yards. Allen from Charles Spikes' team leads the league in rushing with 348 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Timberwolves and the Jaguars face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sierra takes on Kimball. Jeff Harbison's team is currently in first, while the Jaguars are in fifth.
East Union fell to Modesto Christian 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jose Maltez ran for 79 yards in the defeat.
