Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Santa Clara walked away with it. They came out on top against Branham by a score of 11-7 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for Santa Clara, who have now won 17 matches in a row.

John Kepner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Greg Salgado was incredible, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Connor Houle was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Santa Clara's record now sits at 26-3. As for Branham, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Coming up, Santa Clara will take on St. Francis on Friday. The last three games the Sharks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Branham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
