Sumter faced Summerville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Gamecocks fell 3-0 to the Green Wave. The Gamecocks' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Lillie Ivey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Sumter's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7-1. As for Summerville, the win keeps they at an undefeated 31-0.

While Sumter had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
