Recap: Emery Spartans vs. Juab Wasps
The Emery Spartans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 52-39 victory over Juab. That's another feather in the cap for Emery, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Emery to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wade Stilson, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and six steals. Stilson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Tuttle, who scored 13 points.
Despite the defeat, Juab had strong showings from Jay Rowley, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks, and Austin Park, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Emery's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Juab, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Emery will head out on the road to take on Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Delta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Juab, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carbon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Carbon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
