Baseball Recap: Southington Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Southington was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Immaculate on Tuesday. The Blue Knights were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Mustangs. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Knights considering their one-run performance the game before.

Logan Rembish made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Colin LaRosa was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Shane Richters was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Southington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Immaculate only posted a batting average of .190.

Southington's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Immaculate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southington will square off against Newington at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Immaculate, they will face off against New Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
