Basketball Recap: Middleton Comes Up Short

Middleton was the 62-49 winner over Vallivue when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Middleton Vikings lost to the Vallivue Falcons on the road by a 61-46 margin on Tuesday.

Xander Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Vallivue, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominik Betancourt, who went 5-for-12 en route to 15 points.

Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Vallivue, they pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middleton will head out to take on Emmett at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Middleton is facing Emmett at the right time seeing as Emmett is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Vallivue, they are taking a road trip to face off against Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vallivue knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Caldwell likes a good challenge.
