Volleyball Recap: Sunset Takes a Loss

Sunset saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cushman Cougars by a score of 2-1.

Analyse Torrech paced Sunset's offense, picking up 12 kills. Torrech got some help from Gabriela Rojas and her nine assists. Alexa Padron controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Cushman found their leader in sophomore Kelly Lopez, who had 14 assists and three aces. Lopez has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last seven times she's played.

Sunset's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Cushman, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Sunset wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Westminster Academy on the 27th. As for Cushman, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Royal Palm Beach on the 27th.
