Basketball Recap: Hancock County Comes Up Short

Hancock County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 66-54 to the Apollo Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 39-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Hancock County's record now sits at 10-12. As for Apollo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Hancock County and Apollo could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. Hancock County will square off against Breckinridge County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 137 places (218 vs. 81). Similarly, Apollo (ranked 117th) will meet Bowling Green (ranked 14th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
