While Broadwater Academy has struggled on the road with three straight losses, that wasn't the case on Thursday thanks to Leah Smith. The Broadwater Academy Vikings breezed past the Chincoteague Ponies to the tune of 55-10 thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 15 boards. She also grabbed six steals, which is notable because Broadwater Academy is undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 4-6 otherwise.

Miranda Smith was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Broadwater Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Chincoteague, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Broadwater Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Denbigh Baptist Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Broadwater Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Chincoteague, they will challenge Nandua at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
