Pinole Valley is a perfect 6-0 against Kennedy since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Spartans will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Pinole Valley will be strutting in after a win while Kennedy will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Wednesday, Pinole Valley made easy work of Richmond and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won four in a row.

Pinole Valley was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Kennedy came up short against Pinole Valley last Wednesday and fell 3-1. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kennedy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-16, 25-20, 25-20.

Pinole Valley will have to contain Jayson Scarbrough as he made an impact in Kennedy's last game. He had 14 kills and three aces. Scarbrough has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 13 times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Kennedy fell to 9-1. As for Pinole Valley, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Pinole Valley beat Kennedy 3-1 when the teams last played last Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
