The Little Rock Southwest Gryphons will look to defend their home field against the Jonesboro Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. Little Rock Southwest will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Little Rock Southwest pushed their score all the way to 33 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-33 walloping at the hands of Bryant. While losing is never fun, Little Rock Southwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Bryant is ranked fourth).
Jonesboro fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 37-7 victory over North Little Rock.
Markevious Pickett had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns. Pickett was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Jordan Daniels, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Jonesboro's win bumped their season record to 3-4 while Little Rock Southwest's loss dropped theirs to 1-6.
