Rains is 8-2 against Prairiland since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildcats will head out to take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rains has nine straight wins, Prairiland has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Rains got the win against Lone Oak by a conclusive 17-7. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Prairiland fell victim to Mount Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-0.

Rains' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Prairiland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything went Rains' way against Prairiland when the teams last played back in March, as Rains made off with a 13-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
