Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastchester). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pelham Memorial Pelicans a 17-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Sabrina Cosgrove made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Cosgrove was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Eastchester got a massive performance out of Gianna Peduto, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, Peduto posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Grace Comizio was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
