Umatilla took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Nyssa, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Umatilla picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Nyssa, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Umatilla will take on Burns at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nyssa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Baker/Powder Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
