Softball Game Preview: Beacon Bulldogs vs. Spackenkill Spartans

The Beacon Bulldogs will face off against the Spackenkill Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beacon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while Spackenkill will come in with three straight wins.

Beacon couldn't beat Port Jervis on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Bulldogs lost 19-4 to the Raiders.

Beacon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meg Nicholson, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Emma Soltish also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Spackenkill narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Red Hook 4-3.

Cadie Hanaburgh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Adriana Alessandro was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Spackenkill's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Beacon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
